Lake Improvements

October 2008 - Work commences at Les Montautiers

Terry Harbert and his wife Sue acquired Les Montautiers in August 2008 and have already started a programme of improvements by installing an improved drainage system. A new inlet channel is being built to ensure that optimum water levels can be maintained throughout the year and ‘Mains’ water will be connected to the site this winter.

The lake will be closing down in early October 2008 when it will be partially drained so that the existing shallow and silted up areas can be dug deeper. The problems that have been experienced in the past with excessive weed growth will also be addressed and excess ‘silver’ fish and Pike together with the majority of the Catfish will be removed.

A further stocking of quality Carp has already been sourced which will ensure that our new guests can expect a few ‘surprises’ in 2009.

Keep checking this improvements section for regular updates on the progress of these improvements together with videos and photos of the introduction of new stock.
